I ask the secretary to lead us through the items on 4

the agenda.

Before we do that, Mr. Chairman, I'll 6

have to ask the Commission to vote to hold on less than one 7

week's notice SECY 85-330ta) on Point Beach, 335ta) on 8

Sequoyah, 337ta) on Haddam Neck, 339ta) on Cook, and 345ta) on 9

Millstone 10 CHAIRMAN PALLADINO:

If I had realized we were I

13 going to vote all these on short notice we might as well have 14 done it 15 minutes ago.

We wouldn't want to 17 deprive the public of the chance to hear this.

18 COMMISSIONER BERNTHAL:

They're not particularly 19 interested, but nevertheless --

20 MR. CHILK:

330ta) is dealing with Point Beach.

The 21 Commission is being asked to act on an order to extend the 22 November 30, 1985 deadline for environmental qualification at 23 Point Beach Plants, Units 1 and 2.

All Commissioners have 24 approved the order extending the deadline until December 31st, 25 1985 for Unit 2,

and until spring 1986 refueling outage, but

not later than May 25, 1986 for Unit 1.

The second one is 85-226ta) dealing with 5

Sequoyah, where the Commission is acting on an order to extend 6

the November 30, 1985 deadline for environmental qualification 7

at Sequoyah Plants, Units 1 and 2-.

All Commissioners have 8

approved the order as modified by Commissioner Asselstine 9

denying the requested extension.

The third one is 337ta) dealing with 13 Haddam Neck Nuclear Plant.

The Commission is being asked to 14 act on an order to extend the November 30, 1985 deadline for 15 environmental qualification at the Haddam Neck Nuclear Plant.

16 All Commissioners have approved an order extending the deadline 17 until January 4,

1986 refueling outage, but no later than 18 January 4th, 1986.

The next one is 339ta) on Cook Nuclear 22 Plant, Unit 2 where the Commission is being asked to act on an 23 order to extend the November 30, 1985 deadline for 24 environmental qualification at D.C.

Cook Plant, Unit 2.

25 Chairman Palladino, Commissioners Bernthal, Roberts

and Zech have approved an order extending the deadline until 2

February 1986 refueling outage, but no later than February 3

28th, 1986.

Commissioner Asselstine disapproves the extension, 4

has provided separate comments to be attached to the order.

along -- it says February 28th, 1985.

Well, that's a typo.

It's an '86 8

refueling outage 9

CHAIRMAN PALLADINO:

Yes, I appreciate, just want to 10 call attention to the typo.

The last one is 345ta) dealing with 14 Millstone where the Commission is acting on an order to extend 15 the November 30th, 1985 deadline for environmental 16 qualification at the Millstone Nuclear Power Plant, Station 17 Unit number 1 18 Commissioners Roberts, nernthal and Zech have 19 approved an order extending the deadline until the next 20 outage that occurs after the Statt has made a determination 21 on whether an exemption to Section 50.49 can be granted, and 22 that is of sufficient duration to replace the equipment in 23 question.

But in any event, no later than the next refueling 24 outage for Millstone Unit I scheduled for mid-1987, or August 25 30, 1987, whichever occurs first.

1 Chairman Palladino, Commissioner Asselstine have 2

disapproved.

Commissioner Asselstine has provided comments to 3

be attached to the order.
