Dear Mr. Denton:
The Vogtle - South Carolina Electric & Gas (SCE&G) 230 kV transmission line was discussed in Amendment 5 to the Environmental Report - Operating License Stage (Section 3.9, March 15,1985).
Pursuant to the Utility Facility Siting and Environmental Protection Act, SCE8G is required to provide an environmental assessment of the proposed route.
The environmental assessment is necessary for completion 'of the Application for a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Convenience and Necessity for Electric Transmission Line Construction as required by the State's Public Service Commission. Attachnents I and II are the environmental assessment and application for the Vogtle-SCE8G line. A report on the location, identification and assessment of cultural resources which could be affected by the proposed right-of-way is being prepared and will be submitted to the NRC 1
staff when it is compigted.
