SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT 50-458/97-05
Dear Mr. McGaha:
An NRC inspection was conducted February 10-14, and March 5-7,1997, at your River
Bend Nuclear Station reactor facility. The enclosed report presents the scope and results
of that inspection.
This inspection reviewed your implementation of the improved standard Technical
Specifications by assuring the proper application of the provisions and conditions of the
NRC safety evaluation issued in response to your application for a Technical Specification
amendment. The review placed particular emphasis on your procedures and controls for
those requirements that were relocated from the original Technical Specifications to other
documents.
No noncompliances or significant issues were identified. We have determined that you
have successfully revised the previous Technical Specifications to the format of
NUREG-1434 and relocated requirements to other documents as appropriate.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter
and its enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR).
Should you have any questions concerning this inspection, we will be pleased to discuss
them with you.
