This responds to your letter of October 21, 1985, wherein you requested an extension to License Condition 9.3.

Due to the continuation of the circumstances described in your letter of July 22, 1985, as further discussed during several telephone conversations between your Mr. R. J. Gigliotti and Mr. O. F. Smith of my staff, we find your request to be reasonable and justified, and have determined that granting it will not adversely affect the common defense 'and security nor the public health and safety and is otherwise in the public interest. Accordingly, we are hereby revising License Condition 9.3 of Safeguards Amendment SG-1 to your License No. SNM-368, effective immediately, to read as follows:

9.3 The licensee is authorized to employ uncleared guards in towers, at the Sandy Desert Road Gate and on patrol outside of the protected area until January 31, 1986, provided all of the conditions specified in the licensee's letter of i October 24, 1984, concerning this subject are strictly adhered to. This license condition will automatically expire on January 31, 1986, unless sooner rescinded by the Comission.
