ORNL FINAL LETTER REPORTS Attached for your information are copies of the ORNL final letter reports ORNL/NRC/LTR-96/29, "A Study of the Most Populous Check Valve Types Installed in Nuclear Power Plants" and ORNL/NRC/LTR/96-32, "A Characterization Update of Pump and Related Equipment Failure J
Experience in the Nuclear Power Industry (1994-1995)."
These reports were prepared in response to NRR user need requests to support the current work on motor operated valve, check valve, and pump performance as related to recorded operational failures in order to access longer intervals between inservice tests. NRR has requested that these reports be made publicly available. Therefore, these final letter reports 1
have been placed in the PDR for public access.
