Programs, Region I  :

FROM: Frank J. Miraglia, Acting Director Division of Licensing Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation

SUBJECT:

OPERATING EXPERIENCE AT LIMERICK This letter is to provide a review of operating experience at Limerick since issuance of the low power license on October 26, 1984. The assessment was perfomed by the Operating Reactors Assessment Branch (0RAB) in response to a recent request from Comissioner Zech. A copy of our report has been sent to Comissioner Zech under separate cover. The results of the assessment have also been informally discussed with the licensee. .

As.was discussed with your staff (S. Collins, R. Gallo) ondanuary 31, 1985, '

we believe the results of the assessment should be factored into your ongoing evaluation of readiness for the full power license. We will continue to monitor and evaluate opgrating experience at Limerick during the coming months as part of our normal assessment of experience at operating plants.

We will also work with your staff and the licensee reg, arding significant trends or develo m nts in operating experience.
