To outline" the pro'per steps required to 'dielectrically check motors and/or cables' at TMI.

j NOTE:

This procedure applies to all electrical equipment and.

l-cables that 00, NOT contain solid ' state devices in their circuitry.

4.0 PREREQUISITES

4 4.1 Obtain control room permission, deenergize and log in accordance

with TMI Administrative. Procedure No.1002 (TAGGING) 4.2 Install grounding and ' test device (ground buggy) in accordance with generic procedure 1420-Misc.-3 (Use of Standard Grounding

5.0 PRECAUTI0llS

5.1 Insure circuit to be checked is deen,ergi:cd prior to meggering.

. 5.2 Verify that~all protective rubber equipment and test devices are in safe and o'perable conditijn prior to use.

5.3 Insure that only the deenergize portion of the grounding buggy is exposed when meggering high volt ge units.

i 6.0 ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA:

.480 Volt or below 1.6 megohns or greater; 4,800'Yolt Circuits 5.0 megohms or greater.

6.900 Volt Circuits 7.0 megohms or greater.

If readings are unacceptable, notify shop foremen.
