RESUI.TS The attached figure describes tne pressure and tempernture response of the containment building (assu:aed homogeneous) to the simulation basis fire.
Clearly, the building spray s. stem is effective in suppressing building super-heat and pressure to ae:cptable values.
Given the convective nature of heat transfer to uninvolved equipment it is likely that most con taire:en t equi pr'en t would survive in operable condition.
FIRE SUPPRESSION Given a severe fire which does r.ot co=aunicate with other conbustibles, the resulting pressure / temperature response can be controlled at acceptable tite SEVE levels providedfeurns itself cut without spread in g.
