i The Epicor 2 facility is presently capable.of processing radioactive water i

if plant conditions require that action to be taken. We are however, con-tinuing with an Operability Progra: to further assure ourselves that pro-cessing water through this syste: will result in a very low risk of exposure to both plant operators and the public.

1 The Operab'ility Program consists of procedure development and approval; operator qualification requirements and training; photographing building areas for maintenance planning; and obtaining spare parts to minimize system down time.

The developmen:. and cvaluation of these areas have been the subject of four rectings to datt between persennel of the Waste Management. A'.AFA, FEC, N.R, Ca -Gun and Met-Ed groups; additional meetings will continuc te arsure that these objectives will be achieved.

We have currently developed draft procedures for approximately 90*: of the required activities and are modifying these as required by the results of l

practice runs.

The marked up procedures are turnad over to Met-Ed (J. Floyd) l 1

for final review and approval.

I Operator qualification sequirements have been developed and are documented i

in the Operability Program meeting minutes.

Operability Meeting minutes also identify periodic status and achievement of objective milestones.

, is a schedule which shows the projected activities which are l

necessary to complete the Operability Program. details the respentibility breakdo -
