A management meeting was held at the NRC Region I office, King of Prussia, Pennsylvania
on February 5,1997. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the findings detailed in
the subject NRC inspection report relative to an unplanned personnel exposure event on
November 2,1996. As described in our inspection report, your radiation protection
program was deficient in several areas that resulted in the potential exposure to two *
radiation workers in excess of NRC regulatory limits. This meeting provided an opportunity
for our staff to better understand your assessment, cause evaluation, and corrective
measures (planned and taken) relative to tM deficiencies that were identified, and your
planned efforts to strengthen the performanc.e of your organization in support of
decommission activities.
The enclosed meeting report summarizes the meeting, and is associated with two
attachments. Attachment 1 is an uncorrected transcript of the discussions held between
representatives of your organization and attending NRC personnel, and Attachment 2 are
copies of the overhead slides and other materials that were provided by your staff to
support the discussion.
