Dear Sir:

Limiting Conditions for Operations (LCO) 3.3.3.7 of the Trojan Technical Specifications require that a Special Report be provided if certain fire protection instrumentation become nonfunctional and cannot be returned to functional status within fourteen days.

During installation of a plant modification from October 7, 1985, to October 25, 1985, Fire Detection Instrumentation in the

'A' and 'B' Emergency Diesel Generator Rooms were taken out of service. Upon com-pletion of the modification activities on October 25, 1985, the instru-mentation was restored to a functional status.

During the period that the instrumentation was nonfunctional, an hourly fire watch patrol was established as required.

Sincerel,

/B/
