Hi Stephen, This email is being sent on behalf of John Monninger, Director, Division of Advanced Reactors and Non-power Production and Utilization Facilities, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, in response to your email dated April 30, 2020. The April 30, 2020, email forwarded a draft newsletter article to the NRC for review as required by Section V, Paragraph F.5.a, of Confirmatory Order (CO) EA-19-071.

Reed College had agreed to submit an article to the National Organization of Test, Research, and Training Reactors (TRTR) to be considered for inclusion in an upcoming TRTR newsletter by June 1, 2020. The newsletter article was to summarize the conditions leading to the CO that existed at Reed and emphasize the need for RTR licensees to be complete and accurate in the submission of license applications and in all other dealings with the NRC. The article was also to include lessons-learned regarding Order EA-19-071.

The NRC has reviewed the draft newsletter article and finds that it complies with Section V, Paragraphs F.5.b and c, of the CO. The NRC also has no comments on the article. Therefore, it may be submitted to the TRTR and considered for publication in an upcoming newsletter as-is. This completes our review of the draft newsletter article required by Paragraph F.5.d.

If you have any questions about the CO, please let us know.

Finally, please reply to this email to confirm receipt.

A copy will be placed in our public ADAMS.

Thanks

Geoffrey Wertz, P.E.
