i The model UT-330 is ' designed for use as a residential type smoke detector. This unit is constructed as follows: A one microcurie i L
' (37.0 kBq) Americium-241 foil source (manufactured by either !
Nuclear-Radiation Developments or Amersham Corporation) is e secured by' crimping to a tin or nickel plated brass holder which l is soldered at the holder base to the circuit board. The source '
and holder are protected by an aluminum ion chamber cover which !
is secured to the circuit board by tamper resistant screws. The ;
circuit board and ion chamber are attached by two standard screws '
to a high impact plastic base. Fitted to this base is a slotted l
l high impact' cover with small mesh screen wire insert. This snap-3 on cover protects the electronic and ionization chamber !
components from impact and sbrasion. [

l Unitec. Incorporated ceased operations in mid-1983. The State of ;
Colorado verified that Unitec's Colorado license (176-01) was '
terminated October 12, 1983. Based on these, Unitec's ;
distribution license was retired in 1984 when it' expired. [
