Potential Probim with Pipe Clamps Gentionen:

Basic Engineers Division of National Valve and Mmuracturing Ccrpany has advised us of a potential probim with 3/4" and 1" pipe clamps manufactured by their firm. Cleveland Electric Illuminating Ccrpany has reported this to NRC as a 10 CFR 50.55e probim at the Perry Nucicar Station. The probim entails slippage of the clanp circtinferentially around the pipe due to conditions in installation.

Correction of the prob 1 m requires an increase in torque values for the clanp bolts which in scre cases may require new bolts and nuts.

Sectico IV of the PSCo No.141 installation manual has been revised to reflect the new torque values and a copy is enclosed for your utilization.
