On March 3,1997, the NRC assumed regulatory jurisdiction over areas leased by the United States Enrichment Corporation from the Department of Energy at the uranium enrichment plants at Paducah, Kentucky and Piketon, Ohio. An open routine meeting between the Corporation and DOE has been scheduled to discuss regulatory issues. NRC staff will be attending.
