Philip Ting, Chief Date Signed Operations Branch Division of Fuel Cycle Safety and Safeguards, NMSS Authority Statement: The Department of Energy (DOE) and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) have agreed to cooperate to facilitate the NRC's obtaining of information and knowledge regarding the gaseous diffusion plants' and the United States Enrichment Corporation's (USEC) operation thereof through observation / inspection activities during the interim period before the NRC assumes regulatory responsibility. This inspection report is a summary of NRC activities for the period stated above. Each of the observations was communicated to the DOE site safety representative and USEC site staff at the end of the observation period.
