Dear Ms. Collins:
1 This is in response to our recent telephone conversation during which you agreed to meet-l with NRC staff to discuss the status of the New York City Burea'u of Radiological Health,
materials program. You requested that we provide a detailed agenda for this meeting and upon receipt of this agenda, we would estaglish a mutually acceptable date.
In addition to other topics you may identify, we believe the following areas should be '
discussed in a meeting at your Department's offices. As we agreed, the' discussions will last no longer than approximately one-half day.
Topics for discussion include:
1.
Program budget (current status and future commitment);
j 2.
Bureau Director vacancy (interim coverage, impacts of vacancy, and plans to fill);
3.
Status of materials program staffing;

4.
Status of licensing, inspection, and event / allegation follow-up programs; i
5.
Discussion of issues associated with allegations; NRC procedures for handling allegations.
i NRC referral of allegations to NYC BRH.
l NYC BRH procedures for handling allegations, generally, and Columbia i

Evaluation of NYC BRH event / allegation response during IMPEP reviews.
