& Boston Edison Fitness For Duty Performance Data Summary ofManagementActions Six Month Period Ending December 31,1996 At the end of the year, we began preaccess testing for our upcoming outage. This is reflected in the increased number of positive preaccess tests. We had five positive contractor preaccess alcohol tests and one random alcohol positive. Tnere were nine marijuana positives at the 100 ng./ml level and three marijuana positives that were only positive at the 50 ng/ml level. There were two cocaine positives and two contractors refused to test.

License employees had one random cocaine positive that was a repeat test because of a low creatinine value. There was one "for cause" test that was marijuana positive at the 50 ng./ml level bringing the total of positives tests to 24.

Integrity checks revealed that there were 54 specimens having creatinine levels ofless than 200 nanograms per liter. One was positive for marijuana, one was administrative positive for refusing to test, and one was positive due to alcohol. Fifty-one tests were

)

repeated. Nine of these were still low and had to be tested as observed specimens.

J In those areas where there has been a recent history of substance abuse (i.e. DWI's), we

{

have instituted a follow up accelerated testing program.

The percentage of positive tests this period was 2.14%. This is an increase of 1.04% over our last test period.
