Millstone Station Notdication of Dye Test i
Dear Mr. Gonyes:
This letter confirms that on February 20,1997, Mr. Gary Johnson, Millstone Station Unit 1 Environmental Coordinator discussed with you the use of " Spectra Colors Corporation Spectracide Fluorescent Red WTS, Xanthene indicator Dye" to trace a floor drain path out of the Millstone Unit 1 turbine building. As explained to you, the dye will be diluted with approximately 100 gallons of de lonized water for this task. This work is part of an overall plant effort to better define discharge paths for the purposes of our NPDES permit application.
Based on our discussion, you found the performance of this test acceptable. However, pursuant to your request, Northeast Nuclear Energy Company (NNECO), on the day of the test, will notify your office and the Oil and Chemical Spills Unit, that we are performing a dye test. We will also, the day prior to the test, inform the local Fire and Police Departments.
Should you have any further questions, or lf this letter does not accurately reflect our conversation, please contact Mr. Paul Jacobson (860) 447-1791 x 2335.
Very truly yours, NORTHEAST NUCLEAR ENERGY COMPANY ro su STScace /
