S AFF REQUIREMENTS - COMSECY-96-069 - DRAFT NRC STRATEGIC FLAN To ensure that the strategic plan conforms with the statutory requirements of the Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) agencies are encouraged to have continuing interactions with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) throughout the development of the strategic plan.
In the spirit of this cooperation, the December 2r 1996, draft of Strategi Plan that was submitted to the Commission was also informally sent to OMB for comment.
In discussions with the staff, OMB ir.dicated that changes to the general goals are needed to more clea.rly articulate the relationship to the agency mission and to provide a stronger programmatic and operational focus.
The Commission will defer action on the December 20, 1996, draft Strategic Plan to allow the Executive Council to revise the plan to respond to the OMB concerns and to incorporate any Commission final views on the DSIs for which the SRMs are available.
The Commission will reconsider the revised Strategic Plat that incorporates these revisions.
