l ATTACHMENT i

1. During a steam generator blowdown following a MSLB. the pressure drop across a tube support plate will be determined by the flow distribution across the plate. The potentia'i for multidimensional flow exists and may I be especially important at the uppermost tube support plate because of the !

difference in flow resistances between flows parallel and perpendicular to '

the tube bundles.

The flow resistance will be direction and position dependent at the tops of the U tubes. Assess the impact that multidimensional flows have on the pressure drop across the tube support plates.
