The question and District's response follow:

Were the requirements of 10CFR50 Appendix B applied to the 11N1 (nuclear Class 1) section of RCS vent lines installed in 1972 and subsequentley modified in 19837 A.
The District did apply the requirements of 10CFR Appendix B to the nuclear Class 1 section (llN1) of the high point vent lines.
Included in the application of the Appendix B requirements are:
The vent line piping installation in 1972, up to and including the first manual isolation valve, and The branch line, installed in 1983, up to and including the second isolation valve.
The Dis ~crict committed to the Appendix B requirements originally in the SMUD QA ManJal (prepared by BeChtel) at the time of Construction and subsequently in the SMUD QA Manual currently in effect.
