Enclosed is an application for an export license (XSNM02966), recently received by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, for the export of low-enriched uranium to Taiwan for use as reload fuel in Kuosheng Units I and II.
Assurances from Taiwan are required that the material will be subject to all of the terms and conditions of an agreement for cooperation.
Your assistance in obtaining the necessary assurances will be appreciated.

Dear Ms. Wright:
The attached is General Electric Company's original NRC License application for 558,000 Kgs Uranium Dioxide (UO2) ranging from natural up to a maximum of 5.0% enrichment,497,500 Kgs Uranium,24,900 Kgs U-235 to be exported to Chinshan Nuclear Power Plant, Units I & II.
Also,558,000 Kgs Uranium Dioxide (UO2) ranging from natural up to a maximum of 5.0% enrichment, 497,500 Kgs Uranium,24,900 Kgs U-235 to exported to the Kuosheng Nuclear Power Plant, Units I & II.
These quantities are based on five (5) firm and two (2) optional reloads for each unit of both the Chinshan and Kuosheng reactors, for a total of twenty-eight (28) reloads in all.
Enclosed is General Electric Company's check # 0011923350 in the amount of $6000.00 payable to the U.S.
Nuclear Regulatory Commission for the processing and issuance of these licenses.
These NRC export licenses are required for bidding purposes and will become effective only when a firm crder is in place with Taiwan Power Company. GE Nuclear Energy must provide these licenses to Taiwan Power Company in order that our bidding will be accepted.
