Dear Mr. Martin:

Per the request of Mr. J. Eckhardt, Rancho Seco Senior Resident Inspector, I am forwarding for your information a copy of our internal document " Status of LRS Recommendations" which we use to track the status of individual items from the LRS Management Appraisal Report.

This report is in a slightly different format from what you may have seen in the past. We have made the change in order to more clearly reflect the

" Methodology for Recommendation Resolution". The methodology flow chart and definitions are attached to the back of the report. This methodology provides for an appraisal of our actions to ensure that implementation was as intended and the desired results were achieved. Please also be aware that the " Start" and " Complete" dates reflect the dates associated with the particular " Action Required." The setting of appraisal dates will be based on allowing implementation of the corrective action to be completed with some additional time to gather experience. Hence, there may be cases where some time elapses between the completion of implementation and initiation of an appraisal. We feel this approach to the appraisal process will return the most benefit.

Let me also reiterate that the " Status of LRS Recomendations" is a working document for those of us working to provide resolution to the recomendations. The "coments" section, especially during the development state, reflects the latest d scussion/ direction that is being taken to resolve a specific recomendation. Final comitment to implementation of a scheme to resolve a particular recomendation for purposes of this report are nct made until the implement phase begins. This philosophy allows the flexibility to modify our direction during the process to take advantage of any new infomation which may come to light.
