SUBMITTAL OF EXERCISE OBJECTIVES AND SCENARIO DETAILS

Dear Dr. Mulder:

As a result of NRC organizational changes during October 1995, revisions are necessary to the previous guidance regarding the submittal of exercise objectives and scenario details (letter dated April 22, 1992). Earlier guidance requested that information be sent to the Chief. Emergency Preparedness Section, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Region II, at the letterhead address, marked "to be opened by addressee only." The revised instructions are to provide the exercise details in accordance with the schedule listed below, to the Chief, Fuel Facilities Branch, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Region II, at the letterhead address, marked "to be opened by addressee only." We are requesting that your submittal be as follows:

Period in Advance of Drill Information to be Submitted 45 days Date and time of drill; drill scenario and objectives to be fulfilled.

20 days Complete drill scenario, including any controller information, messages, and simulation data to be used.

The information requested above is exempt from internal and public disclosure under 10 CFR 2.790 until after the drill. In order to preclude such disclosure, please provide your submittal as discussed above.
