SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT 50-285/96-13
Dear Mr. Patterson:
An NRC inspection was conducted October 21-25,1996, at your Fort Calhoun Station
reactor facility. The enclosed report presents the scope and results of that inspection.
This routine, announced inspection focused upon your radiation protection activities during
the refueling outage. We determined that you have implemented an effective radiation
protection program to address the radiological challenges resulting from leaking fuel.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter
and its enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
Should you have questions concerning this inspection, we will be pleased to discuss them
with you.
