SUBJECT:
Ti 2515/118-SERVICE WATER SYSTEM PROBLEMS AFFECTING SAFETY-RELATED EQUIPMENT - GENERIC LETTER 89-13 Tl 2515/118 directed the regions to select plants at which to perform this inspection on the basis of factors such as service water system (SWS) operating experience; contribution of SWS to plant risk assessment; licensee programs in response to Generic Letter 89-13; complexity of SWS; and potential for SWS degradation. The following plants did not meet the selection t; therefore, this Tl was not performed for: Grand Gulf; Palo Verde, Units 1,2, and 3; River Bend Station: South Texas Project, Units 1 and 2: Waterford 3; and Wolf Creek. Per your direction, we will update the the Safety Issue Management System (SIMS) to show "NA" in the " VERIFY COMPLETE" column and reference the assession number of this memorandum in the " INSPECTION REPORT NUMBERS" column for these plants.
