20555 Attention: Mr. S. A. Varga Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant - Units 1 and 2 Automatic Trip of Reactor Coolant Pumps - Generic Letter 85-12 and NUREG-0737, Item II.K.3.5 Gentlemen:
Generic Letter 85-12 requested licensees to select and implement an appropriate Reactor Coolant Pump (RCP) trip criterion based on the Westinghouse Owners Group (WOG) methodology and to develop a schedule for the submittal of information requested in Section IV of the NRC SER.
Alabama Power Company has selected reactor coolant subcooling as the RCP trip criterion for Farley Nuclear Plant. This RCP trip criterion is currently implemented by the Farley Nuclear Plant Emergency Response Procedures. The requested plant specific information will be submitted to the NRC by October 31, 1985.
