SUBJECT:
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION ON NUPAC EA-210 HIC As requested in your memorandum of July 1,1985, we have reviewed the supplemental information on NUPAC EA-210 HIC.
i The EA-210 HIC is one of many in the fl0 PAC Enviralloy family of HIC's.
The EA-210 prototype used for drop tests incorporates several features (remote handling lift pockets with shifted internal support legs, shorter closurewedges,etc.)notincludedintheinitialdesign. The EA-210 prototype was tested in several orientations. A structural analysis of remote handling lift pockets was also provided.
We have the following comments on the supplemental information:
1.
The testing of the EA-210 and analysis for the remote lifting pockets does not validate the family of HIC's.
2.
Deformation of the internal sup mrts occurs for the free drop.
It has not been shown that the pac tage integrity is not compromised under the burial loading conditions and defomed internal supports.
Information identified in our memorandum of December 14. 1984, for the family of HIC's is still pertinent.
