The Cintichem decommissioning project is at a point where the i i last remedial tasks are being performed, however it is not possible  !

to have- the project finished, in particular the final and confirmation survey work, before the scheduled license expiration.

We estimate that'our final survey - report . will. be submitted by

, January-31, 1997 and that the NRC. confirmation survey work will i

i. require another 60 days after which some time will be required for l

! obtaining NRC final approval to terminate the licenses'(R-81 and SNM-639).

, We request that the license remain effective through June 1997

! which should allow sufficient time for completing the work outlined  ;

above.
