Request for Termination of Quality Assurance Plan No. 0138 Battelle has completed the review of the continued need for the Transportation Quality Assurance.
i Plan No. 0138 for the Model BCL-4 Package and requests termination of the Plan. Battelle has 3
conducted a thorough review of the Type B packages which it is listed as a user and has determined that it has no need to be a user of any of the packages (list enclosed). In addition, Battelle is retiring its own BCL-4, and it will no longer be used as a Type B cask.
i Battelle respectfully requests that you terminate all renewal and review activities of the Quahty Assurance Plan No. 0138 since they are no longer needed. It is unfortunate that the NRC original notice to Battelle dated June 21,1996 was sent to a former RSO where it was temporarily misplaced and did not reach the current RSO until mid-August 1996.
