October 25,1996 OFFCE OF THE INSPECTOR GENERAL MEMORANDUM TO:

James M. Taylor Executive Director for Operations

- dm / -

FROM:

Thomas J. B chi Assistant Inspector General for Audits

SUBJECT:

NRC HAS AN OPPORTUNITY TO COORDINATE PRO.r CTS RELATED TO TRACKING EMPLOYEE LABOR HOURS I

Attached is the Office of the Inspector General's Special Evaluation Report as stated above.

I We prepared this special evaluation to draw management's attention to several upcoming NRC 3

projects related to developing or reviewing labor hour tracking systems. Because tracking labor 3

hours is a common thread among the projects, we saw this as an opportunity for NRC management to consider managing and coordinating them on an agency-wide basis.

I Since this report contains no recommendations, we did not provide a draft for agency comment.
