. COMMONWEALTH EDISON COMPANY'S NOTICE OF DEPOSITION Pursuant to 10 C.F.R. S 2.720 (h) (2 ) (i) and S 2.740a(a),

notice is hereby given that Commonwealth Edison Company shall depose three NRC Staff members, namely Robert M. Compton, Robert E. Serb and T. K. McLellan. These three deponents will appear as a panel.

The deposition shall be conducted on September 4, 5, and 6, begin-ning at 10:00 A.M. each day at the offices of Isham Lincoln & Beale, 1120 Connecticut Avenue, N.W., Suite 840, Washington, D.C. The deposition shall be taken before a certified court reporter.

The subject of the deposition shall be the mechanical construction aspect of the Construction Appraisal Team (CAT) in-spection conducted by the Office of Inspection and Enforcement at the Braidwood Station. This inspection was reported in IE Report No. 50-456/84-44, 50-457/84-40, (hereafter the " CAT Inspection Report"). Applicant is informed that the three deponents named above were the inspectors responsible for.the mechanical construction appraisal found in Section III of the CAT Inspection Report.

- 4 The deponents' testimony on the mechanical construction appraisal is relevant to the Rorem Quality Assurance Contention.

Specifically, paragraphs 1.C. through 1.F. and 10.C. of the Rorem Q.A. Contention rely in whole or in part on the CAT Inspection Report findings regarding mechanical construction.

The deponents shall bring with them all documents in their possession which pertain to the mechanical construction appraisal in the CAT Inspection Report including but not limited tot procedures and/or guidance used in the inspection, correspondence, notes, and memoranda.
