Dear Mr. Montgomery:

GA Technologies Inc. (GA) received your referenced letter on July 5.
1985.
Recently we advised you that certain individuals were retiring.
For this and other reasons GA is considering options for reorganization of responsibilities which will be announced to NRC in the very near future.
We believe it would not be in NRC's nor GA's best interest to force a re-sponse before the reorganization is established. This is to confirm our August 2 telephonic request to Mr. Thomas and his instruction that we put the request writing.
We request a 45 day extension for the required response date. This will allow a reasonable period of time to include the new organizational units and responsibilities in our response. Be assured that corrective meas-ures will be pursued in the meantime.
Please acknowledge the extension's approval.
