NRC INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-338/96 10 AND 50 339/96-10
Dear Mr. O'Hanlon:
Thank you for your' response of January 2.1997, to our Notice of Violation.
l
issued on December 2,1996, concerning activities conducted at your North Anna
'
facility. We have evaluated your response to Violation A and found that it
meets the requirements of 10 CFR 2.201. We will examine the implementation of
your corrective actions during future inspections.
In your response to Violation B, you indicated that an independent assessment

by a consultant with experience in Maintenance Rule Program development and
l
implementation was performed and when finalized the assessment results and
i
associated corrective action alans would be provided to the North Anna
Resident Inspectors. Since t1e long term corrective actions were not clear,
'
in telephone conversations between Mr. Sommers of your staff and Mr. Belisle-
on January 17 and 21, 1997, Mr. Sommers agreed to revise the response to
' Violation B to include the results of the Maintenance Rule Self Assessments as
it applies to North Anna and that the revised response would be forwarded to
i
this office by February 28, 1997.
