Gentlemen This status report is submitted to the Licensing Board in accordance with my letter of August 5, 1985.
My letter indicated that counsel for the NRC Staff, Applicant and Intervonors Rorem et

al. were seeking to negotiate and reconcile objections to the Tnterrogatories filed by Intervenors on July 2.
Counsel for these partien met on August 14 and some progress was made.

circumstance, the parties have agreed to continue discussions and to i
extend the time for filing any motion to compel or other appropriate pleading from August 19 to August 30.
The parties will also endeavor to stipulate, by August 30, to the form and terms of a protective agreement that would protect and keep confidential the identities of quality control inspectors and other persons who might be called as witnesaca with respect to 8500220510 850019 PDR ADOCK 05000456
