Containment High Range Radiation Monitor Gentlemen:

Reference (b)is a nctification that the A Train Containment High Range Radiation Area Monitor, RM-6113A, was declared inoperable on September 26,1996, due to spiking. The monitor was removed from service; the control module was inspected and cleaned; and the unit was placed back in service for trending purposes only.

On October 25,1996, an operability determination was performed and the unit was declared operable. There has been no further spiking, monitor indication and response has been normal, j

and daily checks of the monitor have been satisfactory.

A spare monitor has been ordered.
