QUESTION What will be the approximate contamination levels in the central area after the CaF has been removed?
2 It is estimated that the average contamination levels in the soils

immediately adjacent (1-2 feet) to the areas where CaF is to be removed 2
will average <200 pCi/gr.
What are the estimated dose rates before and after the CaF removal?
- 4) QUESTION 2
RESPONSE
Current readings of the CaF indicate a range of 0.05 - 0.08 mR/hr at a 2
distance of one meter at several locations within the CaF storage area.
2 Around the immediate boundaiy (at approximately five yards from the edge of the CaF storage area), readings are 0.05 mR/hr at a distance of
{
2 one meter.
After CaF removal, dose rates are estimated to be at background for that 2
area; 0.02 - 0.05 mR/hr at a distance of one meter.
Please contact Dave Brown on (910) 675-6745 or me on (910) 675-5889, if you have any -
questions or would like to discuss this ma'ter further.
