Dear Mr. Martin:
In response to commitments made by Mr. Larry Kuncl, in an August 6, 1985 i
telephone conference with Richard Denise, Richard Bangart, and other Region IV personnel, I am transmitting an interim procedure, SP-10, detailing the methodology of how security-related unusual occurrences are to be handled.
This procedure was reviewed and approved by the Station Operations Review Committee (SORC), on August 8, 1985, and was implemented immediately.
Training of Security Shift Supervisors and Station Shift Supervisors on the background and use of the procedure will be completed by August 9, 1985. A number of mini-drills will be conducted and the results analyzed to assure the effectiveness of the training.
The drills and analysis will be completed by August 12, 1985.
Any identified shortcomings in either the procedure or training will be corrected prior to August 16, 1985.
Sincerely, d I4Ws4 P. V. Thomason Division Manager of Nuclear Operations
