Dear Mr. Nardi:
On December 4 and 6,1996, Mark Roberts and Anthony Dimitriadis of this office conducted a safety inspection at the Westinghouse Specialty Metals Plant in ,
2 Blairsville, Pennsylvania. The inspection was limited to a review of remediation ;
activities in progress at the facility. A copy of the NRC inspection report is enclosed.
- The findings of the inspection were discussed with James Flanigan, Wayne George, j Larry Smith, and you, at the conclusion of the inspection. This also refers to the two ;
telephone conversations on January 24,1997 between Philip Horrell and Mr. Roberts +
and between Darryl Klink and Mr. Roberts. l Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were identified. j In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter will be placed in the Public Document Room. No reply to this letter is required; however, during the inspection you stated that you will send Region I a copy of the exterior work plan addendum for 1 review. 1 Your ooperation with us is appreciated.
