50-425 (OL) l (Vogtle Electric Generating Plant, Units 1 anc' 2) l NRC STAFF REQUEST FOR EXTENSION OF TIME TO FILE RESPONSE TO APPLICANTS' MOTION FOR SUMMA'tY DISPOSITION OF CONTENTION I4 On July 31, 1985 Applicants filed a motion requesting summary disposition of Joint Intervenors' Contention 14, regarding the reliability of the TDI emergency diesel generators.
In order to respond to this Motion, Staff will require an extension of time until September 23, 1985, for the following reasons.
First, the NPC Staff members who will be required to review this matter are away from the office on annual leave, and will be out of the office for the next two weeks. Second, the Staff's review will require l
an evaluation of several extensive reports, and may necessitate that the Staff engage outside consultants to assist in our review. These factors compel the Staff to require an extension of time of four weeks, until September 23, 1985, in which to respond to Applicants' motion.
