(GANE Contention 9) in the license renewal proceeding for the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) Research Reactor (GTRR).

Notification is being transmitted to you and the parties in the GTRR license j

j renewal proceeding because of its potential relationship to GANE Contention 9.

1 ll On April 22, 1996, the NRC staff received an allegation regarding a manager at

f the GTRR.

The allegation concerned the management style of this manager and the potential for that style to impact safety at the GTRR.

The NRC staff is l

reviewing this allegation and will provide the results to the Licensing Board when complete.

If requested by the Board, the staff will provide further 4

j information to it on an n parte, ja camera basis, consistent with the
