Dear Sir:
In accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 71.12(3), the New York Power Authority, as holder of License No. DPR-59, hereby notifies you of our plans to use a shipping package with Package Identification Number USA /5971/b( )F at our James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant.
The Authority has a quality assurance program that was approved by the NRC as satisfying the provisions of Subpart 11 of 10 CFR 71.
We also have a copy of the specific Certificate of Compliance For Radioactive Materials Packages (Certificate No. 5971, Revision No.
5,Q ated July 19, 1985, General Electric Company) and other do @ ments relating to the use and maintenance of the package as well as ctions to be taken prior to shipment.
<cThe cover letter associated with this Certificate of Compliance sped $fically states that this package is useable under the general li se provisions of 10 CPR 71.12.
