j On August 23, 1985, representatives of Virginia Electri and Power Company met

with NRC Region 11 personnel in Atlanta, Georgia to discuss the development of l
scaling factors for 10 CFR 61.55 compliance. The attendance list is attached as Appendix A to this Summary.
The meeting was held at the request of Virginia j
Electric and Power Company.

VEPC0 representatives explained the basis of the current scaling factors in use j
and presented their new philosophy and methodological approach to the further f
l development of scaling factors used in classification of radioactive waste slated l
for burial. This approach will impact waste classification at the Surry and 1
North Anna Power Stations, t
