. . s APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Crowell Corporation Docket No.99990001 Wilmington, Delaware 19804 License No: General License As a result of the inspection conducted on August 29,1985, and in accordance with the NRC Enforcement Policy (10 CFR 2, Appendix C), the following violations were identified:

10 CFR 31.5(c)(3) states that tests required by 10 CFR 31.5(c)(2) and other testing, installation, servicing and removal from installation in-volving the radioactive materials, its shielding or containment, are per-formed by a person holding a specific license pursuant to Parts 30 and 32 of 10 CFR or from an Agreement State to perform such activities.

Contrary to the above, as of Augu;t 29, 1985, a gauge containing 1.2 curies of Krypton-85 was removed from one location and installed at another location by persons not holding a specific license to perform such activities.

This is a Severity Level IV violation (Supplement VI).

Pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR 2.201, Crowell Corporation, is hereby required to submit to this office within thirty days of the date of the letter which transmitted this Notice, a written statement or explanation in reply, including: (1) the corrective steps which havn been taken and the results achieved; (2) corrective steps which will be taken to avoid further violations; and (3) the date when full compliance will be achieved. Where good cause is shown, consideration will be given to extending this response time.
