Dr. Thomas E. Murley Regional Administrator Gentlemen:
Inspection Report 50-317/85-17 and 50-318/85-15 identified two items of apparent noncompliance with NRC regulations and five allegations. Due to the nature of these apparent violations and allegations, our legal staff is conducting a detailed review of the matter before responding in accordance with Appendix A of the Inspection Report. We have determined that'a required response date of August 11, 1985, would not permit sufficient time to investigate the concerns involved. Therefore, we request you extend our response duc date until August 30,1985.
