20555 Attention: Mr. S. A. Yarga Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant - Units 1 and 2 Response to Generic Letter 85-09 Gentlemen:
On May 23, 1985, Generic Letter 85-09, " Technical Specifications for Generic Letter 83-28, Item 4.3," was issued requesting changes to the Farley Nuclear Plant Technical Specifications. By letter of June 19, 1985, the Westinghouse Owners Group (WOG) responded to the NRC describing the proposed WOG program for optimizing surveillance and maintenance practices for the reactor trip breakers and the bypass breakers. This proposed program is scheduled to be formally considered at the September 1985 WOG meeting.
Alabama Power Company supports this program and is participating in the WOG efforts to address Generic Letter 85-09. The NRC Staff will be updated on Alabina Power Company's efforts to address Generic Letter 85-09 following the September 1985 WOG meeting.
