The Reference provided Kansas Gas and Electric Company's (KG&E) responses to the subject Inspection Report concerning emergency preparedness improvement items. Certain of those responses require revision due to changes in KG&E planning, equipment and software problems, and scheduling conflicts with other priority work. Those responses that require revision are enclosed.

482/8425-41 Iten: Install and verify the automatic dialing system.

Curre t Status: We Automatic Dialing Alert Systen (ADAS) was installed and tested at the NGCS site during the first three months of 1985. Because of inadequacies in the local telephone exchange, the ADAS was not able to function properly. We systen was moved to the Dnporia, Kansas exchange and was denonstrated to be functional at that location.

Negotiations are underway with the anporia exchange for retal space at their exchange building with final legal exanination of the contract now occurring within KG&E.

Completion of arrangenents for final installation of the ADAS is scheduled for October 31, 1985. In the meantime, the manual callout method will be utilized should plan activation be required.

Include radio procedure and circuit discipline training in existing training modules (e.g. offsite monitoring team training).

Current Status: 'Ihe next Energency Response Plan Training Lesson Plan revision will address proper radio protocol and communication discipline. 'Ihe revision will be complete by July 31, 1985.

482/8425-60 Iten: Install and verify provisions for providing a hard copy output of the RRIS results in the TSC and EOF.

l Current Status: Polaroid cameras will be used to provide hard copy of RRIS results. A camera is available in the Control Room and EOF. Polaroid film will be maintaine3 in the Control i Rocxn and EOF anergency cabinets. KG&E believes that l the Control Room and EOF are appropriate locations for

RRIS hard copy. 'Ihe RRIS terminal design in the TSC does not have the capability for hard copy gmeration.

Current Status: Ananometers have been purchased and were placed in the Control Room and TSC energency cabinets. Our prior l response indicate 3 they would be placal in the OSC and EOF. However, it was determine 3 that placanent in the other facilities was more appropriate.

Current Status: The home and work area phone ntaubers for KG&E home office and general office energmcy organization personnel were included in the telephone directory. This directory was utilized in the conduct of the call-out drill completed prior to obtaining Wolf Creek's 100% power lic m se.
