ROBERT L VICKERS RECIONAL DIRECTOR FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY BUILDING 105 PRESIDIO OF SAN FRANCISCO, CA 94129 -
RANCHO SECO NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION UNIT NO 1 FEMA 43 SUBMITTAL As requested in your letter of September 11, 1985, the Sacramento Municipal Utility District has reviewed your technical assistance contractor's evaluation of our August 28, 1985' Alert and Notification System Design Addendum. In turn, our review is presently being evaluated by Mr. Jim DuBois, Chairman of'the Edision Electric Institute's Acoustical Committee. We will provide our review to you by October 11, 1985 as requested.
In the meantime, as you are aware, our local governmental authorities have raised serious objections to the cancellation of the siren test by FEMA. The District is proceeding with plans to perform a siren sounding and coverage evaluation by October 26, 1985. As discussed by telephone, plans for such an evaluation will be determined at a meeting scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on October 9, 1985 at the District's Emergency Operations Facility. Representatives from both FEMA and the NRC are cordially invited to attend this meeting either as participants or observers.
If we can provide any additional information on this matter at this time, please contact Roy LeNeave of my staff at 916 451-2023.
