Reference:

July 13, 1985 letter from P. C. LeBlond to H. R. Dentun.

Dear Mr. Denton:

The referenced letter transmitted a request to increase the enrichment limit for fuel stored in Zion's Spent Fuel Pool to 3.7 w/o U-235. In response to a request by Mr. M. L. Wohl of your office, we are providing additional information regirding Commonwealth Edison's current burn-up projections for the Zion reactors.

The current region discharge burn-up projections for the proposed Zion la month operating cycles are approximately 36,000 MdD/MTU which was obtained fom economic scoping studies. While there are no plans to increase the averagu region discharge burn-up, this parameter is subject to periodic reassessnont in order to ensure the economic optimization of Connonwealth Edison's fuel usage.

If any questions arise concerning this matter, please contact this office.

Very truly yours, h
